The Clan Jetties of Penang are historic wooden stilt houses over the sea, established in the 19th century by Chinese immigrants. Comprising seven jetties named Chew, Lim, Tan, Yeoh, Lee, Mixed, and Ong, they originally served as temporary settlements for maritime workers. Now part of UNESCO's George Town World Heritage Site, they feature temples, shops, restaurants, and schools, connected by wooden walkways. Chew Jetty is the most visited, with extensive amenities. Inhabited by descendants of the original clans, these jetties preserve traditional customs and celebrate festivals like Chinese New Year and the Mid-Autumn Festival.
