The trail is short (approximately 15–30 minutes one way) but involves multiple river crossings, with sections that require walking directly in the water. Depth is usually ankle- to knee-level under normal conditions but varies with rainfall.

The terrain consists of mixed riverbed (rocks, الرمل, gravel), muddy banks, and short forest paths. There is no formal trail construction—navigation is based on visible footpaths and river direction. In some sections, ropes or informal handholds may be present, depending on recent usage and maintenance by local operators.

Jeram Perlus itself is a multi-tiered cascade, with several small drops rather than a single vertical fall. Water flow is steady but increases significantly after rain. The area around the falls includes flat rocks and shallow pools suitable for sitting and wading.

This trailhead is also used by guided groups and weekend visitors, making it one of the more active access points within Kemensah, especially during weekends and public holidays.
