Your adventure begins at the trailhead in Hulu Langat, where the jungle quickly closes in around you in the best possible way. The trail follows a clear, well-worn path through dense rainforest, with a gradual and steady incline that builds over the 3-hour journey inward. Along the way, keep your eyes open for the rich variety of plants, insects, and wildlife that call this part of Selangor home. The trail is long but peaceful, a true immersion into untouched Malaysian jungle. As you push deeper into the forest, the distant sound of rushing water signals your arrival at Jeram Perlus. The waterfall emerges dramatically. Tall, powerful, and surrounded by lush greenery. Take time to rest, cool off, and soak in the rare tranquility of this hidden gem before retracing your steps back to the trailhead.
All bookings are strictly non-refundable. No cancellations, transfers, or date changes are permitted once payment has been made. Participants who fail to arrive at the designated meeting point at least 10 minutes before the scheduled activity time will be considered a no-show and will not be eligible for any refund or reschedule.
1.
The trail covers approximately 13 km return with a 6-hour total duration, making it a moderate full half-day commitment. Despite the distance and 600-metre elevation gain, the path is gentle, clear, and free of any technical climbing sections. It's well-suited for hikers with a moderate fitness level who enjoy a longer, more immersive jungle experience.
2.
A licensed MGP Guide is optional for groups of 10 and below, but is strongly recommended given the trail's length and remote location deep within the Hulu Langat jungle. For groups of 11 and above, a guide is mandatory by regulation at a ratio of 1 guide per 10 hikers. Having a guide ensures safety, proper navigation, and a far richer experience on the trail.
3.
Jeram Perlus is rated 4/10 in difficulty — moderate rather than easy. While the trail has no difficult climbing sections, the 13 km distance and 600-metre elevation gain require a reasonable level of fitness and stamina. First-timers with some basic fitness can manage it, but adequate preparation, proper footwear, and sufficient water and snacks are essential.
4.
Jeram Perlus is one of the tallest and most untouched waterfalls in the Hulu Langat region. Unlike more accessible falls that attract large crowds, Jeram Perlus rewards the effort with true solitude, dramatic scenery, and an authentic deep-jungle experience. The journey itself — through rich, biodiverse rainforest — is as much a highlight as the waterfall.
5.
Yes, your mandatory Selangor Forestry Department permit is arranged and included as part of your booking package. There is no need to apply separately. Simply present your mobile voucher and identification (MyKad or passport) at the meeting point on the day of your hike.
