About

Lanai Seni is a newly opened public plaza located along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, in the Presint Andalan 10 Warisan KL area. It sits amid the long stretch of textile shops, heritage shophouses, street vendors, embassies and older commercial blocks between Chow Kit and Medan Tuanku. It’s near landmarks like JAKEL (fabrics), Jalan Palestin, and accessible via the green pedestrian corridors of the Green Connector.

What makes Lanai Seni popular is its urban oasis design with public art and lighting, lush greenery, water features and an open-air amphitheatre that hosts cultural events. It serves as a meeting place, rest stop, and photo spot for locals and tourists alike, bringing together art, nature, heritage architecture and modern sustainable infrastructure.

There is no cafe or restaurant onsite (just open public space), so its appeal is atmosphere, design and culture rather than food. Unique features include a Solar Tree structure with solar PV panels, dynamic lighting (“play of light” themes), landscaping with water elements, an amphitheatre stage, and connectivity via pedestrian paths from surrounding streets.
SDG Centre Kuala Lumpur

Since this is a free public space, affordability is universal (no entry fee). Parking is limited – mostly street parking or nearby public lots; many visitors come on foot or via public transport. Accessible paths from sidewalks and crosswalks make it easy for most to reach. Ideal visit time: 30-45 minutes to wander, rest, take photos, perhaps catch performances or events. Operation hours are generally dawn to dusk, though lighting may extend into evening hours when events are held. Social / web links: no confirmed official site; often listed under “Lanai Seni Kuala Lumpur” or “Dataran Lanai Seni” in social media and city-planning announcements.
