About

Din Satay operates as authentic local satay stall nestled in Kampung Baru's residential lanes, serving traditional charcoal-grilled meat skewers to generations of kampung residents and visitors seeking genuine Malaysian street food experience. Featured in The Edge Malaysia's cultural exploration of Kampung Baru, the establishment represents authentic kampung dining where locals bring guests for proper Malaysian satay paired with hot black tea.

The stall specializes in traditional charcoal-grilled satay preparation, producing aromatic meat skewers imbued with smoky flavor from open flame cooking. The charcoal grilling develops distinctive char while maintaining juicy tender interior, creating signature taste distinguishing authentic satay from modern alternatives. The meat receives proper marination with traditional spice blends before grilling.

The classic offerings include chicken satay, beef satay, and lamb satay, served with nasi impit, cucumber, onion, and rich peanut sauce. The peanut sauce maintains traditional preparation with real crushed peanuts creating chunky appetizing texture, balanced with subtle sweetness and mild spice enhancing overall experience. Each skewer delivers generous meat portions making affordable pricing exceptional value.

The dining experience embodies authentic kampung atmosphere with simple roadside setup creating relaxed casual environment. Locals frequent the stall during evening hours, creating vibrant community gathering spot. The hot Teh O Panas serves as perfect beverage pairing, cutting through richness while complementing smoky grilled flavors.

The establishment maintains lesser-known status despite quality offerings, operating primarily for local community rather than tourist traffic, preserving genuine kampung character where food quality speaks through word-of-mouth from satisfied regulars.

My friend recommended me , so I took a Grab from my hotel which is about 2.7km away, peak hour quite heavy traffic as expected in KL! I like the quiet ambience after passing thru the Main Street kampong Bahru where there lot of restaurants and eateries full of locals and tourists. I like Din satay quiet ambience after passing, the satay was quite good, I ordered 30 sticks Ayam and 10 sticks of mutton.. taste good the peanuts sauce was great… meat was generous and well bbq… will recommend for anyone who love good authentic Malay satays in KL! Thank KL for such a wonderful dinner.. in the end we decided to walk back to our hotel in Bukit Bintang as we are too full😂😋😀😍. Will come when I drop by KL!👍
